Unfortunately we are having to cancel the Woodland Bear Adventure event in the Chapel on Saturday 7th December.
You will be aware that Storm Darragh is expected to bring strong winds to this area through the day tomorrow. There is a significant risk of falling trees, branches and other debris, and this has led HCC to announce the day-closure of all the country parks. As the Chapel is situated within the country park, this means that we are also required to close tomorrow and will be unable to hold the Woodland Bear Adventure event.
We know how disappointed you and your children will be about this – we are too! Can we please remind you that we have a twilight session for the bear event this evening (Friday 6th December) until 6.30pm, with Father Christmas visiting us from 3pm. We are also anticipating being able to open again from 10.30am on Sunday 8th December morning and will have Father Christmas with us until we close at 4pm. You are welcome to join us at any time convenient to you within these hours.

This Christmas, we invite you to the Royal Victoria Country Park for a delightful event that promises to enchant visitors of all ages. Join us as we turn the Chapel into a magical forest which is home to Benny the Bear.
Event Highlights:
An Original Story: Follow the heart-warming tale of a bear who becomes a Christmas elf, set in a magical woodland scene.
Stalls: Browse a collection of stalls.
Craft Activities: Fun activities for children to engage in.
Father Christmas: Meet Father Christmas and make your visit even more special on 7th and 8th December.
Christmas Shop: Select an adorable toy bear in a unique shop setting.
Festive Treats: Enjoy Christmas drinks and cookies provided by our Catering Team (additional cost).
Event Sessions:
7th & 8th December 10:30am – 3:30pm (Father Christmas and stalls)
11th & 12th December 10.30am – 6:30pm.
Prices: £6.50 per child. This includes: a walk around the magical woodland, your own Benny the Bear to take home and a craft activity. Plus - if you visit on Friday 6th (3pm - 6.30pm), Saturday 7th or Sunday 8th you'll get to visit Santa too! Payment on arrival, card payments only. The chapel exhibition is open as usual.
