In January 1944, control of the Royal Victoria Hospital was passed to the American armed forces, to give them a medical base on the south coast in preparation for the D-Day landings. This talk, by Heritage Officer Ursula Pearce, will explore the experiences of both the US Army and Navy staff at Netley; their thoughts about the hospital building, their preparations for D-Day and their treatment of casualties in the aftermath of the invasion.

Donations welcome to support the running of the Royal Victoria Chapel.

Standard car parking charges apply.
