Meet and feed the animals

Staunton Farm is home to a variety of friendly animals of all shapes and sizes. Meet ponies, ferrets, reptiles and many classic farm favourites. Discover the difference between alpacas and llamas and meet rabbits and other cuddly creatures.
Buy feed from the reception or the Farm Shop and give the farmyard animals a well-deserved treat. During term-time, you can even spend quality time with Staunton’s farmyard friends at animal encounter sessions.
Remember to use one of the many hand washing stations around the farm when you’ve finished spending time with Staunton’s farmyard friends.
Book an experience
Time needed: 1 hour
For year-round fun, you and your children can book an exclusive animal experience and go behind the scenes at the farm.
Budding photographers can also get up close and personal with the animals by joining one of Staunton’s photography experiences.

Visit the maze
Time needed: up to 1 hour
Planted in 2002, the Golden Jubilee Maze is a fun-filled family challenge. Work together as you try to reach the middle of the maze, and then try not to get lost as you get out. It’s a must-see experience.

Visit the outside play area
Time needed: 1-2 hours
Let your kids run, swing, slide, and jump to their heart’s content at Staunton Farm’s outdoor play area. Inspired by one of Sir George Staunton’s ships, the play area will make a seafaring sailor of your children in no time.
Explore the glasshouse
Time needed: up to 1 hour
Did you know Staunton Farm’s glasshouse is the largest on the South Coast? Travel around the globe on a trip to as you spot the exotic species that call this Victorian glasshouse their home.

Learn about the power of pollinators
Time needed: up to 1 hour
Discover the fascinating world of pollinators by completing the pollinator trail around the walled garden and glasshouse. There are ten nectar stops signposted and ready to be found so get ready to learn all about the power of pollinators.
You can also bring the magic of these pollinator plants into your garden. Visit Staunton Farm Shop on your way home to buy some of the plants you can spot on the trail.
Rainy day activities

George’s play barn
Time needed: 1-2 hours
Escape the rain and let off some steam in George’s play barn. Named after Sir George Staunton, the play area has a soft play toddler zone, fireman’s pole, net bridge, slides and an amazing climbing frame for those who like a challenge.
Places to eat
Farmhouse Café
Whatever the weather, the Farmhouse Café is a must visit. With indoor and outdoor seating, it’s an excellent spot to enjoy locally sourced refreshments including hot meals, sandwiches, and tasty treats. Make sure to take a (tea!) leaf out of George Staunton’s book and try some Fairtrade tea while you’re there too.

Staunton Farm Shop
Stock up on locally sourced produce at Staunton Farm Shop. From fresh bread and vegetables, to pickles, cider, and honey, there’s plenty of delicious treats and snacks to enjoy. There’s also a range of ice creams that will satisfy even the strongest of sweet tooths.
With 20 minutes free parking at the Farm Shop, why not stop by on your way to pick up picnic supplies?
