This will be the year when we see our new glass fronted centre opened to visitors. Set on stilts to avoid future coastal flooding, the centre will be the perfect place to take in the amazing panoramic views of the Solent and the Isle of Wight whilst dining at The Lookout, offering fantastic fresh food and refreshments. A highlight during the winter months will be the addition of a fireplace as well as new indoor accessible toilets.
A Visitor Information area will help returning and new visitors make the most of their time at Lepe through making the best of the facilities, coastal routes and current activities on site as well as the New Forest beyond.
Unsurprisingly, things will really start to change in the coming weeks as we make plans to move into our incredible new building! With that in mind, we wanted to give you advanced warning of important developments and how they might impact your visit, until the building works are completed in mid May.
Getting ready for the move
Once February half-term is over, we’ll be getting ready for our move. As such, there will be around 3 weeks (we hope less!) that the current building will be closed, although we plan to have temporary catering on site so you can still pick up a hot drink and a snack for the end of those winter walks!
The Park office will also be unavailable for a short time whilst we move to the new building.
The outdoor toilets will be closed to visitors during the demolition and refurbishment works. Whilst the outdoor toilets are closed and the new building isn’t open for business, temporary toilets will be located on the beach level.
Once the Lookout is open, you’ll be able to access the new building either via steps and/or the steep slope between the beach and cliff top levels.
We’re looking forward to revealing a fully accessible boardwalk to the new building at the end of the works, so watch this space! In the meantime, we will provide temporary accessible toilets at beach level for those unable to access the new building.
Get in touch
If you have any questions about the works, please get in touch by emailing firstname.lastname@example.org or calling 02380 899108 and we’ll be happy to help. As ever, we’re grateful for your patience and are looking forward to sharing in the excitement of all that’s new at Lepe over the coming months. You can also find out more updates about what’s happening around the Park on our Facebook, Twitter and Instagram.
