In 1920, 29-year-old taxi driver Sidney Spicer was shot dead on a quiet road near Andover in Hampshire. An absconded soldier with a long criminal record was quickly identified as a suspect and a nationwide hunt led to him being located in Cumbria. His arrest was not straight forward.
Coffee at 11am, followed by lecture with retired detective Paul Stickler and a two-course lunch served in Jermyn’s House set in the heart of the Gardens.
