It is a truth universally acknowledged that Jane Austen is one of our best loved authors, with legions of adoring fans throughout the world.  But she published her work anonymously and her books fell out of print shortly after her death.  So how did Jane Austen become the literary superstar she is today? Marking the 250th anniversary of Jane Austen's birth, this talk will uncover the fascinating story behind Austen's rise to fame.   

Coffee at 11am, followed by lecture with Annalie Talent and a two-course lunch served in Jermyn’s House set in the heart of the Gardens.
