Calshot Activities Centre are delighted to host the fourth round for London & South East (South) of the Youth Climbing Series. Young people between the ages of 8-17 will be rising to the challenge of some of the trickiest routes on climbing and bouldering walls across England to show off their skills. This competition is run by the British Mountaineering Council (BMC), the national governing body for competition climbing, who support young climbers in achieving their goals, like one day making Team GB for the Olympics! Although entries for this year are closed, you can find out more about the Youth Climbing Series by visiting the BMC’s website.
Catch the region’s young climbers take to Calshot’s wall on 5 November for roped climbs in a bid to reach the grand final. The event will be open for spectators to come and cheer on competitors as they attempt each route.
The climbers will be assisted and belayed by our fantastic community of volunteers, who we wouldn’t be able to host this event without.
The Youth Climbing Series event will run from 8:30am – 7pm on Saturday 5 November at Calshot Activities Centre and is free to spectate. Please keep in mind that the wall will be closed to the public for the duration of the competition and will reopen Sunday 6 November.
Keep an eye out for info of our open comp (starting Sunday 6 November) - the BIG JAM, where you can try out the challenging routes set for this competition yourself!
