Track cycling

Track cycling is all about speed, stamina and technique. Our introductory sessions will help students learn new skills, build confidence, and have heaps of fun on the track.

The session starts with an introduction to the fixed wheel bike and cleats or baskets. Riders work in teams to help launch and catch fellow riders. They will learn to ride the ‘fixie’ and manage their speed and braking, finally moving onto the cote d’azure cycling line (a beginner line lower down on the track where it’s less steep) dependent on their ability.

Riding the velodrome may look difficult at first but it's relatively easy and you're guaranteed lots of exhilarating fun.
