Huts of healing: Medical innovation at Netley during WWI


Book a visit to the Royal Victoria Chapel for our ‘Huts of Healing’ session and get additional resources to support an enquiry in school exploring how WW1 changed the way war injuries are treated today.

Students will learn about: wounds, gas attacks and ill-health in WW1; the medical evacuation route from the battlefield to hospitals like Netley; conditions and treatments at the Royal Victoria Hospital at Netley; medical innovation in WW1; and key developments still in use to treat casualties on the frontline today.
