In December 2022, Hampshire County Council confirmed its commitment to consider carefully any viable and fully costed proposals for the future ownership of Haven House and Titchfield Haven National Nature Reserve that meet the business case objectives, which are cost-neutral for the County Council and which transfer the statutory responsibilities to the recipient as appropriate. Any such proposals were to be submitted during the six-month ‘moratorium’ period relating to the designation of Haven House as an ‘Asset of Community Value’.
The moratorium period ended on 13th June 2023 and a bid for the acquisition of Haven House has been received from Titchfield Haven Community Hub Limited (THCH).
A separate proposal has also been received in relation to Titchfield Haven National Nature Reserve from the Hampshire and Isle of Wight Wildlife Trust (HIWWT). No proposal including both Haven House and the National Nature Reserve was received.
The County Council will now be considering these submissions and will be responding to THCH and HIWWT in due course.
