Pilot on-street electric vehicle chargepoint scheme
In November 2020, we obtained grant funding from the Government’s Office for Zero Emission Vehicles (OZEV) as part of the their On-street Residential Chargepoint Scheme (ORCS). Together with funding from Hampshire County Council’s climate change strategy, this enabled the installation of 50 on-street chargepoints across Winchester and Eastleigh on a mixture of street lighting columns and satellite bollards.
The schemes will be in place for a minimum of three years, in areas where residents have minimal access to off-street parking. The results of the pilot will better inform the County Council’s strategy for future schemes across the county, subject to funding.
