Who can become a member?

MiDAS is available to all schools, colleges, voluntary organisations and council departments that use minibuses. The scheme operates in Hampshire, Portsmouth, Southampton and Isle of Wight is compulsory for Hampshire County Council departments.

Outside of Hampshire

MiDAS is available outside of this area through the Community Transport Association, through a partnership agreement with Hampshire County Council. Certificates issued through the Community Transport Association scheme can be used in Hampshire and vice-versa.

Questions

Can MiDAS assess or train our drivers directly?

No. Under MiDAS, comprehensive training is made available to the Driver Assessor. They then assess and train drivers locally in a way that best suits your organisation.

Do our existing minibuses drivers have to be assessed and trained?

Yes. Existing drivers have to be assessed and trained within a six month period.
