Works completed and provides a new 3m wide pedestrian and cycle path through the area of woodland between the residential areas on the east side of the C114 Camp Road and the new Oakmoor Secondary School to the west.
Whitehill & Bordon Green Grid Green Loop: Ennerdale Road Phase 2/3
This phase of the scheme provides a new pedestrian and cycle route between the residential areas on the east side of the C114 Camp Road and the new Oakmoor Secondary School to the west. This link forms one element of the Whitehill and Bordon Green Grid/Green Loop project, where Hampshire County Council and East Hants District Council are working in partnership to deliver a package of high-quality walking and cycling routes around the town. These facilities will knit together the existing and new areas of the town, encourage the use of sustainable and active transport modes for local journeys and reduce traffic dominance in the area.
At this point the Phase 2 scheme will connect with another new shared-use pedestrian and cycle facility being provided along the west side of the C114 Camp Road between Ennerdale Road and Budds Lane, please view further details here. It is also planned to connect to the Phase 3 Ennerdale Road scheme which will provide a link through to Quebec Park via a new crossing point on Camp Road at the Ennerdale Road junction, thereby completing the east-west connection.
Ennerdale Road Phase 4
Hampshire County Council appointed Associated Asphalt Contracting Limited to carry out the works of the Green Grid Green Loop Ennerdale Road project. Construction of the new shared use pedestrian and cycle facility. The new route runs through woodland to the rear of Oakmoor Secondary School will deliver an extension of the Phase 1 shared use path through the woodland to the rear of Oakmoor School, in a north-westerly direction through to the boundary of the adjacent development site near Station Road. Following completion of this phase, and as part of the development of this site, the developer will be delivering the continuation of the facility through to Station Road to provide route connectivity through to Station Road.
Works completed February 2021.
