Jermyns Lane/Braishfield Road Footway Improvements
Last update: September 2019
- Scheme overview
The scheme will improve accessibility from Abbotswood through to the village of Braishfield by providing a 1.8m wide footway on the east side of Braishfield Road at it's roundabout junction with Jermyns Lane through to the Dog and Crook public house. Rocon Contractors Ltd have been appointed and works started on 14 October 2019 for a duration of approximately 12 weeks.
An uncontrolled crossing point will be provided just south of the entrance to the Dog and Crook public house to allow pedestrians to continue north on the existing footway.
A 200m section of footway on the west side of Braishfield Road from the roundabout junction with Jermyns Lane through to the existing 3m wide footway approximately 400m south of the Jermyns Lane roundabout. This section of footway will be converted to a shared use facility.
A public information event was held at Braishfield village hall on Tuesday 9 July, local residents were invited to come along to view the details of the design and discuss the scheme with members of the project team.
