To create an obstacle free route for people by removing staggered barriers, guard railing, and bollards, which currently cause difficulties and prevent access within Rushmoor.
The scheme aims to:
- Improve local sustainable travel routes;
- Make everyday journeys safer for walking and cycling;
- Accessible for those using wheelchairs, mobility buggies, and pushchairs;
- Encourage more people to cycle/ walk for local trips.
Works expected to commence Autumn 2024.
- Funding Arrangements
- Funding for the transport capital delivery schemes is separate from the County Council’s revenue budget and savings proposals. In the majority of cases funding comes from external grants and / or Section 106 contribution from developers. This funding usually has conditions that strictly control on how, where and when it can be spent.
