Hampshire County Council has appointed Colas Ltd to carry out works to install an uncontrolled pedestrian crossing. The works which has been designed to improve traffic safety, particularly for non-motorised users, include the relocation of electric cables across the carriageway.

The works will also be carried out in two phases; with the first phase of preparation works completed in December 2020.

The second phase of works to be carried out by SSE Energy Services and Colas Ltd to relocate power cables and footway surfacing respectively on Shamblehurst Lane South, near to the Grange Park Mobile Homes site. This constitutes the final phase of works aimed at improving safety for pedestrians and cyclists.non-motorised users in the area.

To maximise safety, two-way temporary traffic lights will be set up to manage traffic flow. The works are scheduled for Wednesday 20 October 2021 until Friday 22 October 2021, between the hours of 9:30am and 4pm.
