- Scheme Overview
-
The aim of this scheme is to carry out an 18-month trial by introducing four bolt-down droppable bollards in Tower Street at a location 7 metres near to Jewry Street than the current set of permanent droppable bollards. Please view the location plan. The bollards were installed in October 2023.
This work would be achieved through an Experimental Traffic Order (ETRO) and would also entail installation of legal signage. This process provides an opportunity for people to contribute their views, please see the Public Notice for further details.
This relocation is necessary to eliminate regular incidences of illegal parking by vehicles on double yellow lines in the evenings, disrupting and preventing scheduled Theatre Royal loading and unloading activity from taking place.
- Funding Arrangements
- Funding for the transport capital delivery schemes is separate from the County Council’s revenue budget and savings proposals. In the majority of cases funding comes from external grants and / or Section 106 contribution from developers. This funding usually has conditions that strictly control on how, where and when it can be spent.
