- Site regulations
Find out which waste types you can take.
Commercial, trade or industrial waste is accepted at most HWRCs for a charge.
Occasionally, site staff may ask you to sign a declaration form to confirm that the waste is from your own household.
Dangerous waste is not accepted.
Some vehicles and trailers either require a permit to enter sites, or are not permitted access.
Use our checklist to find out if you need a permit for your vehicle.
Antisocial or abusive behaviour to our staff is not tolerated.
- Health and safety
Children and animals must stay in your vehicle.
Be aware of vehicle movements and/or people moving bulky items.
Never throw items into a bin as staff may be working within it.
Take sensible precautions when moving and handling items, particularly if they are bulky and/or have sharp edges.
Consider wearing sturdy footwear, sensible clothing, and gloves where appropriate.
Deliver and carry your waste in manageable loads to reduce the risk of manual handling injuries.
If you need guidance or assistance at any time, please ask the site staff.
- Site accessibility
Please be aware that some sites have steps to access containers. If you require assistance for any reason whilst on site, please ask a member of site staff who will be happy to help. Most sites have a parking space set aside for Blue Badge holders.
