Hampshire County Council collects your name, address and vehicle registration number so that we can list your vehicle on our data base (C4C) as being owned or associated with a residence covered by the scheme. This allows us to fast track your free entry to a HWRC. We collect your email address and telephone number so that we can contact you if there are any queries, for example if another person uses your address to inappropriately or fraudulently register their vehicle to your address. Your information is only used for this purpose.
We use this data in accordance with the General Data Protection Regulation, (GDPR) Article 6, 1. (e), that is, your information is necessary for the performance of a task carried out in the public interest.
We share the registration number you provide with Veolia, who keeps this information on their ANPR data base, so that when your vehicle approaches the HWRC it is recognised as a registered vehicle and free entry is granted.
No other information, other than the registration number is shared with Veolia, and it is not used for any other purpose.
You can change the information that the County Council holds at any time (for example if you change your vehicle) or ask us to delete it (for example if you leave the area) by contacting us through or General Enquiries Form or by submitting a new registration form.
We will only keep the information for as long as it is needed for you to access a HWRC, that is until you are no longer eligible for free access, you tell us to remove your details, or 3 years after your last use of a HWRC.
Further details about how the County Council processes personal information, including details of our Data Protection Officer and your Information Rights, can be found in our general Privacy Notice.
