Lepe Country Park new play area
The new play area draws inspiration from Lepe’s D-Day heritage and coastal location, offering a range of features including an obstacle course featuring tunnels, climbing frames, and a zip line, alongside swings and a den-building area. It also features a ‘Lepe Lighthouse’ with a scramble net, ‘firefighter’s pole’ and slide.

The project benefited from £100,000 in funding from New Forest District Council’s Community Infrastructure Levy grant, with additional support from Hampshire County Council.

Councillor Kirsty North, Hampshire County Council’s Cabinet Lead for Universal Services, said: “I'm delighted to open this fantastic new play space at Lepe Country Park. Thoughtfully designed to blend with the natural landscape, it offers an exciting experience for children of all ages, open just in time for the summer holidays. Lepe is a great place to have a memorable day out - whether it’s building sandcastles on the beach, exploring scenic coastal walks, enjoying a picnic, or refuelling at the site’s Lookout café.”

Councillor Derek Tipp, New Forest District Council's Portfolio Holder for Planning and Economy, said: “We have provided £100,000 towards a new play park at Lepe Country Park. The funding came from a grant from a local infrastructure Community Infrastructure Levy bids awarded in April 2024.  These bids offer a chance to fund vital infrastructure sought by the local communities in areas where it is most needed to support our residents. We’re looking forward to hearing about how the nature play zone is used moving forwards and we’re sure it will continue to be an all year-round community asset for residents and visitors.”

Lepe is one of five country parks managed by Hampshire County Council, offering stunning coastal views, walking trails, a café, and now even more for families to enjoy.
