Councillor Zoe Huggins, Executive Lead Member for Adult Social Care and Public Health said: “Day services are a lifeline for many people in Hampshire - not only for those who attend, but also for the families and carers who rely on the respite they provide. This investment helps us protect and strengthen services for the future so residents can stay active, independent, and part of their local community.”
The County Council currently works with over 80 independent providers, supporting just over 1,600 people who use day services. The funding which totals £200 million will help make sure these services continue to provide high quality provision and remain good value for money for residents.
This spending is already built into the Council’s planned budget, with updated arrangements for providers due to start in summer 2026, ensuring services continue to run sustainably into the future.
This investment also supports the authority’s duty to maintain a strong, diverse network of day service providers across Hampshire.
