Hampshire County Council’s Skills Bootcamps, backed by national government funding and delivered in partnership with a network of local training providers, offer flexible, short courses across a wide mix of industry sectors.  They are designed with local employers and help residents quickly build in-demand, job-ready skills through flexible, short courses.

Hampshire County Council’s Deputy Leader and Lead Member for Universal Services, Councillor Kirsty North, said: “Skills Bootcamps are helping people gain the skills they need to move into good jobs and progress in their careers, while also supporting local employers to tackle skills shortages. Supporting our communities and businesses like this is a key part of the County Council’s focus on building a strong, resilient economy for Hampshire.”

The Skills Bootcamps cover a wide range of priority sectors, including digital and AI, construction and retrofit, health and social care, leadership and management, education and early years, hospitality and catering, and land-based and environmental industries.
New and innovative additions include Urban Greening and Biodiversity and AI-focused digital courses, reflecting growing demand for green skills and advanced digital capabilities, and helping people develop the knowledge needed for a rapidly changing economy.

Skills Bootcamps are free for eligible adults aged 19+ who are unemployed or self‑employed, providing a fast-track route into work or career progression, often with a guaranteed job interview on completion. For employers, they offer a practical way to upskill staff, close skills gaps and strengthen their workforce.
