Students across Hampshire receiving their GCSE results are being congratulated for their hard work and determination, as Hampshire County Council continues to offer free advice and support to help young people plan their next steps.

GCSE results mark an important milestone for many students, whether they are preparing to move on to sixth form, college, an apprenticeship, training or another learning pathway.

To support young people and their families, the County Council’s exam results helpline remains open, offering free careers advice from experienced advisers at Hampshire Futures. The service can help students talk through their options, understand what is available locally and make decisions that are right for them.

Councillor Juliet Henderson, Hampshire County Council’s Executive Member for Education, said: “Very well done to all Hampshire students receiving their GCSE results. You have worked incredibly hard to reach this point, and your results are a reflection not only of your effort, but also of the determination you have shown along the way.

“My thanks also go to families, teachers, tutors and school staff who have encouraged and supported students throughout their learning.

“If your results are not what you expected, or if you are still deciding what comes next, please do not worry. There is no single route to success, and our Hampshire Futures advisers are here to help you explore the many opportunities available, from further study and apprenticeships to training and employment.”

The helpline can support students who are confirming places at school or college, considering vocational courses, looking into apprenticeships, or wanting to understand other routes into future careers.

Parents and carers are also encouraged to use the service if they would like advice on how best to support a young person after results day.

The exam results helpline is open on weekdays until Friday 28 August 2026, from 9am to 3pm. Call 03707 796 122 or email [email protected]

Further information and support is also available through the Hampshire Futures website.
