Green light for new primary school in Whitehill and Bordon

The new school will help meet growing demand for school places in the town as the Whitehill and Bordon regeneration continues. 

Councillor Juliet Henderson, Hampshire County Council's Executive Member for Education, said: "As Whitehill and Bordon continues to grow, it is important that local infrastructure grows with it. This new school will provide high-quality facilities for local children, support families moving into the area and help make sure that young people can access the support they need within their community.  

“With features such as natural ventilation, solar panels and ground source heat pump technology, the school has been designed to provide a high-quality learning environment that is fit for the future.  It will serve local children, families and the wider community for years to come.” 

Designed by the County Council’s in-house Property Services team, the school will feature modern teaching facilities, including a music and drama studio, library and learning resource centre, dedicated outdoor learning and play areas, a full-size sports pitch and secure cycle and scooter parking to encourage sustainable travel. Built to high environmental standards, the school building will include ground source heat pump technology, solar panels, electric vehicle charging points and natural ventilation systems.  

Construction of the school forms part of the wider Whitehill and Bordon regeneration programme and will help support the area's continuing growth. The planned opening date of the new school is the start of the academic year 2029 / 30. Hampshire County Council will keep this under review over the coming months to ensure the opening of the school is aligned local demand.
