<p><p><p>Seeking approval to develop a materials policy statement which will include a catalogue of acceptable materials for use in highway works. The aim is to reduce additional future calls on the Highways Maintenance budget by seeking to maximise the use of materials that are durable, fit for purpose and sustainable and to reduce the use of those that are expensive, high maintenance or difficult to obtain.</p>
