Direct debits
A Direct Debit is an instruction from you to your bank or building society. It authorises an organisation to collect payments in varying amounts from your account.
Most banks and building society current accounts can make Direct Debit payments. Ask your bank or building society before setting up a Direct Debit with us. Direct Debits can only be set up from a UK bank account. There is no extra charge to you when using a Direct Debit.
Setting up a Direct Debit
To set up the Direct Debit call us on 0300 555 0223. We will send you a form to complete.
You will need the following information:
- your name and address
- name and address of your bank or building society
- bank or building society account number
- the branch sort code of your bank or building society
- the name(s) on the account
Only the account holder can set up the payments. You can't arrange it over the phone. If we receive an instruction from someone other than the account holder, we will send you a form to complete.
We'll send you confirmation of your Direct Debit within five working days of your call or online sign up, or at least 10 working days before the first collection.
You just need to make sure you have enough funds in your account when the payment is due.
