Open until
Overview
Hampshire County Council and Lydlynch Infant School are seeking views on a proposal to establish a Resourced Provision (RP) for up to nine pupils with social, emotional and mental health needs opening in phases from the 2027/28 academic year.
Pupils with social, emotional and mental health needs may experience difficulties in managing their emotions, building relationships and may struggle to manage their emotions.
Why this provision is needed
There is a growing number of children in the area being diagnosed with social, emotional and mental health needs, and the need for specialist educational support is increasing. This proposal aims to support this by creating a dedicated space within the school for pupils with complex needs who have Education Health Care (EHC) Plans to be placed by the County Council’s Special Educational Needs (SEN) Team.
What is being proposed
- A nine‑place Resourced Provision for pupils with social, emotional and mental health needs
- Pupils will be on roll at Lydlynch Infant School
- Pupils will be supported to access mainstream classes where appropriate, alongside time in the Resourced Provision for targeted individual or small‑group support
- The provision will open in phases from the 2027/28 academic year
- Existing classroom spaces will be utilised for the base for the Resourced Provision. Minor adjustments, safeguarding measures, IT and furniture will be provided together with improvements to an external space for a secure play area.
Impact on the School
- Pupils in the Resourced Provision will receive tailored support and spend time in both mainstream classes and the provision space.
