Fly-tipping in Hampshire
Closed on

Between November 2024 and January 2025 Hampshire County Council held a survey about the impacts of fly-tipping on private land. It received 536 responses.
The survey asked about fly tipping that respondents may have seen in their local area. Businesses and private land owners were also asked about the impacts of fly-tipping on their premises or organisation.
Respondents told us that they frequently reported fly-tipping to their local authority, mainly via digital channels such as web forms or emails. Where they did not report fly-tipping this was commonly due to concerns that nothing would be done with their report, or due to confusion about how to report it.
Respondents also told us that they think we should strongly promote the risk of prosecution for fly tipping, which they felt would be an effective message in our work to reduce fly-tipping.
The results of the survey can be found in the data report, and will inform the Council’s approach to fly-tipping and how it supports landowners and communities dealing with the matter.
If you need to report an incident of fly tipping to your local city, borough, or district council, you can find their details on our Report Fly Tipping page.
