Hampshire County Council is seeking residents’ and stakeholders’ views on proposals to change its Home to School and Post-16 Transport policies that would come into effect in September 2020. These proposed changes largely reflect the closer alignment of existing practice and policy and are intended to improve clarity for parents and carers on the criteria used to reach decisions.
The County Council is required by law to consult on any changes to its Home to School and Post-16 transport policies. The County Council is also required to consult on its Post-16 Transport Policy every year.
Any changes to these policies would only affect new applications for transport made after the date of implementation.
The consultation is open from 13 January 2020 and closes at midnight on 23 February 2020.
Note that responses received after this time will not be included in the findings report.
The findings from this consultation will be published and presented to the Executive Lead Member for Children's Services and Young People later in 2020. Feedback will help to inform any decision by the County Council on the proposed changes to the Home to School and Post-16 Transport policies.
