Petition - Highfield Gardens Tree removal - removal of Hornbeam Tree outside 37/39 Highfield Gardens, Aldershot

I refer to your letter of 22 December 2020 and I apologise for the short delay in responding.

The local consultation of all nearby residents to assess their views clearly supports the removal of the Hornbeam tree in this specific case. The Highways Arboriculture team will now make arrangements for the tree to be removed and for a suitable replacement to be planted where it is achievable to do so. However, they have advised me that, due to the current Covid-19 risk and associated restrictions, removal will not take place until late Spring or early Summer with re-planting to follow later in the year. I am also advised that the subject tree is currently dormant and so any nuisance issues between now and then are unlikely to be exacerbated by this delay.
