Around 91% of bus services in Hampshire operate commercially, this means that they are run by the bus company for profit and the County Council has no influence over the route, the timetable nor the fares charged. This is the case for services such as the Stagecoach 86.

As an alternative for connecting to Winchester, passengers can travel by bus to Andover using the Service 76 and change for the Service 75 to Winchester, or to Basingstoke Rail Station using the Service 76 and connect with a train to Winchester.
