As the Highway Authority, Hampshire County Council receives a high volume of parking-related enquiries and recognises the frustration these issues can cause. However, our limited resources are currently focused on maintaining highway safety and reducing fatalities and injuries resulting from road traffic collisions.

Requests for parking restrictions are assessed alongside other traffic management measures, with priority given to schemes that address casualty reduction. As parking issues rarely result in injury accidents, they are generally considered a lower priority. Demand for traffic and safety interventions across the county significantly exceeds available resources, and we therefore direct our efforts where they will deliver the greatest road safety benefit.
