CCTV
Hampshire County Council operates CCTV in and around its buildings for the prevention and detection of crime. CCTV images are stored for 30 days and may be shared with the Police to support their investigations. Where images are required for evidential purposes, these will be held for 7 years.
Tenants and building occupiers
Details of tenants and licensees / occupiers of our land and buildings are maintained for the purposes of Estate Management practice. These records include contact details and payment details for rent and charges due. Records are held for the duration of the tenancy and up to 25 years afterwards. The legal basis is that this is necessary for performance of a public interest task. Records will not be shared with third parties or used for any other purpose.
Enquiries and correspondence
Contact details are kept on record for 6 years from the date of contact in line with the County Council’s retention schedule. These records include name and address and any information shared as part of the enquiry. The legal basis is that this is necessary for performance of a public interest task. Records will not be shared with third parties or used for any other purpose.
Gypsy and traveller service pitch licences
Details of licensees are kept on record for the duration of the licence and up to one year thereafter. These records include contact details and payment details for fees and charges due. The legal basis is that this is necessary for performance of a public interest task. Records will not be shared with third parties or used for any other purpose.
Public Consultations
Hampshire County Council may collect information that is provided by you in order to undertake public consultation exercises. We will use the information to compile a list of residents who have made comments on the proposals and to help inform decisions that are made. The legal basis for our use of this information is consent. We will not share your personal information with any other organisations or third parties. We will securely store your personal information and keep it for no longer than one year.
