Introduction
Education Personnel Services, on behalf of Hampshire County Council, collects information about school’s staff in order to provide you with information, support and guidance in relation to employment matters. The schools we support operate within Hampshire, Oxfordshire and other surrounding local authorities.
We will use the information provided to determine how best we can support you with your query in relation to the employment query or concern raised.
The lawful basis on which we use this information
The County Council will only process your personal data where it has a lawful basis to do so. The legal basis for our use of your personal data is legitimate interest.
Where medical information is required, processing special category personal data is necessary for the purposes of performing or exercising obligations or rights in connection with employment, social security or social protection.
Under the lawful basis we do not require your consent to process this information once you have made contact with us, but we are required, through this privacy notice, to ensure you are fully informed of why we are collecting this information and what we will do with it.
The categories of information that we process, and storing and securing data
At the point of contact with us, information will be recorded about you and will include name, email address, and phone number. The information you provide will be stored securely on a database provided by a third-party processor. The information will be kept in line with the Human Resources retention schedule and deleted as appropriate. If it is a standard case, the information provided will be kept for seven years and then deleted. If it is a safeguarding case, the information provided will be kept for 68 years from date of birth of accused or 10 years from the date of the allegation, whichever is longer.
