Volunteering

The personal data you provide will be treated in accordance with Data Protection Legislation.  Your data will only be used to record your attendance on this task. It will not be shared with third parties. This form will be destroyed once your attendance details have been recorded. Your data will be retained electronically for a maximum period of 7 years from your last date of volunteering.  The legal basis for our use of this information is that processing is necessary for reasons of substantial public interest.

Boat registration and licensing, including trail boat scheme, mooring agreements, visiting boat licences, and Dry Dock hire

The personal data you provide will be treated in accordance with Data Protection Legislation.  Your data will only be used to process this application and provide you with information regarding the operation of the Basingstoke Canal including Navigation Updates.  It will be shared with Hampshire and Surrey County Councils and the River Wey navigation and their Lock Keepers for verifying ownership of boats, valid licences, insurance and location of boats. It may also be shared with third parties if you cause or are accused of causing damage or nuisance to a claimant’s property whilst using the Canal.  Your data will be retained for a maximum period of 7 years from the expiry date of the licence.  The legal basis for our use of this information is Performance of a Public Interest task.
