Reusable nappy scheme

Privacy Notice

Hampshire County Council collects information about you in order to provide Hampshire residents discount prices on reusable nappies via online codes, helping them to overcome potential cost barriers and reducing disposable nappy waste in Hampshire.

We will use the information to verify Hampshire residency, monitor the success of the initiative and contact residents who choose to opt in with waste prevention news and advice.

Your address is used to validate your postcode and only your postcode will be stored.

The legal basis for our use of this information is legal obligation, as the collection of postcode data is necessary for compliance of a legal obligation to which the County Council is subject (The Waste ((England and Wales)) Regulations 2011: Section 12. Duty in relation to the waste hierarchy.)

We will not share your personal information with any third party processors or bodies outside of Hampshire County Council.

We will keep your personal information for no more than 3 years, as the typical nappy wearing period is 2.5 years.

Anonymised postcode data (first four digits only) may be retained indefinitely.

You have some legal rights in respect of the personal information we collect from you. Please see our website Data Protection page for further details.

You can contact the County Council's Data Protection Officer at [email protected]
