Hampshire Library Service careers

Libraries have a unique place in communities — open to everyone, free to access, and full of opportunity.

At Hampshire Libraries, we offer warm, welcoming spaces where people come to read, learn, connect, and grow. Whether it’s discovering a new favourite book, joining a local group, picking up a new skill, or simply enjoying a friendly chat, our libraries are buzzing with activity and purpose.

We work closely with our teams — including dedicated volunteers and valued partners — to guide people to the resources and services they need, and in addition to this; we help connect people to people.

We take pride in delivering excellent customer service and having positive engagement with our communities; by doing this, we help more people discover the wide range of opportunities our libraries have to offer..

"As a team we are committed to helping those who live, work or study in Hampshire to be part of a strong and inclusive community. Research tells us our communities want a library service that: promotes and champions reading for pleasure; supports healthy, creative communities by bringing communities and services together; and is able to help improve literacy, digital inclusion, and general wellbeing. Our aim is to provide a workforce that meets that need, and one that reflects the diversity of the community we serve.” "
