• Contract scope

• • Hampshire and Isle of Wight Fire and Rescue Authority required the supply of OSB3 timber or equivalent to be used for live fire training exercises for firefighters. The timber is burned to simulate the conditions experienced during various fire situations. 

   

  The Supplier is required to deliver the goods to the Authority’s training sites in and around Hampshire including Southampton, and the Isle of Wight. 

   

  The timber required is formaldehyde low or free Oriented Strand Board Type 3 (OSB3) or equivalent as this will help reduce the volume of smoke produced, ensuring cleaner air and lessening the impact on neighbours.

   

  Each OSB3 board is 2440mm x 1220mm x 11mm in size. For each one board ordered, the Authority would receive an 2440mm x 1220mm x 11mm cut into the following sizes to reduce manual handling risk.
