TRAFFIC ORDER PROPOSALS – 30 MILES PER HOUR SPEED LIMIT EXTENSION ON GRIFFIN WAY NORTH

NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that Hampshire County Council (“the Council”) proposes to make the above-mentioned Order, in exercise of its powers and duties under Sections 82, 83, 84 and 122(1) and (2) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, Part IV of Schedule 9 to the Act and of all other enabling powers, after consultation with the Chief Officer of Police in accordance with Part III of Schedule 9 to the Act and having discharged its duty under section 122 of the Act.

General nature and effects of the Order: Will be to impose a 30 miles per hour speed limit on the southern section of Griffin Way North by approximately 16 metres. This will reduce the existing 40 miles per hour speed limit accordingly by 16 metres.

This will revoke and re-enact the previous Traffic Regulation Order without change save for the change described above

OBJECTIONS AND OTHER REPRESENTATIONS:   All objections/other representations in respect of this proposal must be made in writing to The Castle, Winchester, SO23 8UD or email [email protected] quoting reference:- [C851/MJB], by Friday 27^th October 2023.  All objections must state the grounds on which they are made.  Under the requirements of current access to information legislation, any statement you make to the Council in response to this Notice may be made available to the press and to the public, who would be entitled to take copies of it if they so wished.

TITLE:   The order, if made, will be known as “The Hampshire (Reading Road/Griffin Way North, Hook) (Restricted Road And 40 Miles Per Hour Speed Limit) Order 2023.”
