The following roads will be temporarily restricted sometime during the next couple of weeks. Expected start date 18/06/2025.

Highways - Other Temporary Traffic Restrictions from Hampshire County Council in Winchester area
NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that Hampshire County Council intends to make an order under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulations Act 1984 to allow the MXGP of Great Britain to take place on the Wednesday 18th June 2025 – Monday 23rd June 2025.
ROADS TO BE CLOSED: those parts of the following roads:
1) A31 Alresford Road, Winchester (Westbound Lay-by, Orrs Meadow Burger van) for its entire length. (18/06/25 at 22:00 until 23/06/25 at 09:00).
2) A31 Alresford Road, Winchester (Westbound Lay-by near B gate Matterley Estate) for its entire length. (18/06/25 at 22:00 until 23/06/25 at 09:00).
3) A31 Alresford Road, Winchester, All central reservation crossovers between its junction with Petersfield Road and its junction with B3047 Winchester Road. (18/06/25 at 06:00 until 23/06/25 at 11:00)
4) Rodfield Lane, Winchester from its junction with A272 Petersfield Road and its junction with the A31 Alresford Road. (20/06/25 until Sunday 22/06/25, 08:00-20:00).
5) A272 Spitfire Link, Winchester between its junction with A31 Petersfield Road and its junction with the M3 junction 9 interchange. (22/06/2025 from 15:00-21:00).
6) Cheesefoot Head Car Park, (A272 Petersfield Rd Matterley Estate) For the entire carpark. (18/06/25 09:00 untill Monday 23/06/25 11:00).
TEMPORARY SPEED RESTRICTION – To impose a 40-mph temporary speed restriction on the following road:
1) A31 Alresford Road, Winchester between its junction with Petersfield Road and its junction with B3047 Winchester Road. (18/06/24 at 06:00 until 23/06/24 at 11:00).
2) A31 Alresford Road, Winchester (Westbound Carriageway) between its junction with Rodfield Lane and Percy Hobbs Roundabout. (18/06/24 at 06:00 until 23/06/24 at 11:00).
3) A272 Petersfield Road, Winchester between its junction with Alresford Road and to a point 600 metres Southeast of Rodfield Lane. (18/06/25 at 06:00 until 23/06/25 at 11:00).
ALTERNATIVE ROUTES:
Diversion Routes will be clearly stated by diversion signage on the roads during the event.
DURATION OF ORDER: on Wednesday 18th June 2025 between the hours 18/06/2025 06:00 – 23/06/2025 11:00 for 6 days or until the event has ended, whichever is sooner. Reasonable facilities will be provided to allow access to adjacent premises while the work is being carried out.
This Road Closure has been granted by Hampshire County Council to facilitate the event of MXGP of Great Britain.
