TEMPORARY ROAD CLOSURES – FISHERS ROAD/SCHOOL ROAD/DOWNS PARK AVENUE/LEXBY ROAD, TOTTON & ELING, NEW FOREST
The following road will be temporarily closed at some point over the next 6 months, with an expected start date of 19th January 2026.

Highways – Temporary Road Closure from Hampshire County Council in New Forest area
NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that Hampshire County Council has made an order under S.14 of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, to allow works to be carried out on or near the road.
ROADS TO BE CLOSED:
· that part of Fishers Road between its junction with Rose Road and its junction with Downs Park Avenue.
· that part of School Road between its junction with Bartram Road and its junction with Eling Lane.
· that part of Downs Park Avenue between its junction with Downs Park Road and its junction with Eling Lane.
· that part of Lexby Road between its junction with Downs Park Avenue and its junction with The Grove.
ALTERNATIVE ROUTES:
Fishers Road (between Rose Road & School Road) – Rose Road, Bartram Road, School Road.
Downs Park Avenue (Fishers Road & Lexby Road junction) – Rose Road, Eling Lane, Downs Park Crescent, Downs Park Avenue, Bartram Road.
School Road (Fishers Road junction) – Rose Road, Eling Lane, Downs Park Avenue, Bartram Road.
DURATION OF ORDER: from 19th January 2026 for a period of 6 months or until completion of the works whichever is sooner. (Notwithstanding, it is expected that the closures will be required for no longer than 5 weeks, working between the hours 08:00-20:00 Mon-Fri, 09:00-16:00 Sat, and in operation for 24 hours a day).
The road closure has been granted by Hampshire County Council to facilitate works for AJM Utilities to carry out gas main replacement works. If there are any queries or enquires regarding this Order or the associated works, please contact: [email protected]
AJM Utilities will provide reasonable facilities to allow access to adjacent premises and provide notice to those directly affected while the work is being carried out.
