School organisation from Hampshire County Council in Hart area

1.    Notice is hereby given, in accordance with Section 19(1) of the Education and Inspections Act 2006, that Hampshire County Council intends to make a prescribed alteration to TWESELDOWN INFANT SCHOOL Jubilee Drive, Church Crookham, Fleet, Hampshire, GU52 8DW (category of school – Community School) with effect from September 2026.

2.    There is an increasing number of children in the Fleet area who are being diagnosed with autism and this proposal will provide new specialist school places to support them to access a mainstream education.

3.    The capacity of Tweseldown Infant School is for 330 pupils with 308 pupils currently on roll. This proposal will create a provision to meet the needs of up to 9 infant aged pupils with autism which will open in phases from September 2026. This change will not affect the overall capacity of mainstream places at Tweseldown Infant School.

4.    Existing surplus accommodation will be utilised to become the base for the Resourced Provision – minor building improvements, safeguarding measures, new IT, furniture and a secure external play space will be developed over the coming two years. Capital costs for initial works will cost in the region of £20,000 but additional works will be costed as part of future improvements.

5.    This Notice is an extract from the complete proposal. Copies of the complete proposal may be obtained from Helen Ley SEN Partnership Development Manager, Children’s Services Department, EII Court North, Winchester, Hampshire SO23 8UG; e-mail: [email protected]

6.    Within four weeks from the date of publication of these proposals (26 June – 24 July), any person may object or make comments on the proposal by sending them to Helen Ley SEN Partnership Development Manager, Children’s Services Department, EII Court North, Winchester, Hampshire SO23 8UG; by phone on: 03707 795312 or e-mail: [email protected]
