On the 28 May 2026 Hampshire County Council confirmed the above Order made under section 119 of the Highways Act 1980. The effect of the Order as confirmed is to divert the public footpath from its current alignment which commences at SU 7055 0626 and proceeds north-westwards through water works to SU 7048 0636, continuing south-westwards alongside the railway for approximately 151 metres to SU 7036 0626. The diverted route will be a 3-metre-wide path commencing at SU 7055 0626 and proceeding south-westwards to meet Hermitage Stream, continuing in a westerly direction across a footbridge to re-joining the existing line of the path at SU 7036 0626.
