THE HAMPSHIRE (UNION YARD AND HIGH STREET, ALDERSHOT)

(PROHIBITION AND RESTRICTION OF WAITING AND CAR CLUB PARKING PLACES) ORDER 2026

NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that Hampshire County Council made the above-mentioned Order on Tuesday 14^th July 2026, in exercise of its powers and duties under Sections 1, 2, 4, 5, 32, 35 and 122 of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 (“the Act”) and of all other enabling powers, after consultation with the Chief Officer of Police in accordance with Part III of Schedule 9 to the Act and having discharged its duty under section 122 of the Act.

The general nature and effect of the Order :-  Will be to make permanent the provisions of the “The Hampshire (Union Yard and High Street, Aldershot)

(Experimental Prohibition and Restriction of Waiting and Car Club Parking Places) Order 2024”. experimental order which introduced a Car Club permitting scheme on Union Yard in Aldershot as shown in the following schedules:

Side of Road at Aldershot in the District of Rushmoor

No waiting at any time except for Car Club Vehicles

Side of Road at Aldershot in the Borough of Rushmoor

No Waiting at Any Time

To accommodate this inclusion, it is proposed to amend the existing parking restrictions and to lessen or expand these parking restrictions. This will have the effect of reducing loading/unloading restrictions and increasing the amount of time-limited free parking.

DATE OF OPERATION:    The order will come into force on Monday 27^th July 2026.

APPLICATION TO THE HIGH COURT:  Any person wishing to question the validity of the Order or of any of the provisions contained therein on the grounds that it is not within the relevant powers of the Act, or that any of the relevant requirements thereof or of any relevant regulations made thereunder have not been complied with in relation to the Order may make application for that purpose to the High Court no later than Tuesday 25^th August 2026.
