THE HAMPSHIRE (GOSPORT) (PROHIBITION AND RESTRICTION OF WAITING AND PARKING PLACES) (CONSOLIDATION) ORDER 2020 (VARIATION ORDER NO.5) ORDER 2026

GENERAL NATURE AND EFFECTS OF THE ORDER: Will be to introduce: (i) New double yellow lines at the entrance to the new development opposite Alexandra Street (or north of The Crossways) (ii) New double yellow lines between St Luke’s Road and Coulmere Road to replace redundant Bus stop: PROPOSED NO WAITING AT ANY TIME RESTRICTION ROAD SIDE LENGTH Forton Road East From a point approximately 135 metres north of its junction with The Crossways to a point approximately 78 metres further north. Forton Road North From a point approximately 2 metres east of its junction with St Luke’s Road to a point approximately 30 metres further east. (iii) New ‘Goods vehicles loading only’ to replace redundant Bus stop: PROPOSED GOODS VEHICLES LOADING ONLY ROAD SIDE LENGTH Forton Road West From a point approximately 57 metres south of its junction with Alma Street to a point approximately 16 metres further south. (iv) And remove three redundant ‘No stopping except buses’ (Bus stops) from map-based orders.

Highways – Permanent Traffic Order Notices from Hampshire County Council in Gosport area

THE HAMPSHIRE (GOSPORT) (PROHIBITION AND RESTRICTION OF WAITING AND PARKING PLACES) (CONSOLIDATION) ORDER 2020 (VARIATION ORDER NO.5) ORDER 2026 

NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that Hampshire County Council made the above-mentioned Order on Tuesday 21st July 2026, in exercise of its powers and duties under Sections 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 32, 35, 45, 46, 47, 49, 51, 53 and 122 of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 (“the Act”), Part IV of Schedule 9 to the Act, and of all other enabling powers, after consultation with the Chief Officer of Police in accordance with Part III of Schedule 9 of the Act, and having discharged its duty under section 122 of the Act.

DATE OF OPERATION: The order will come into force on Tuesday 4th August 2026.

APPLICATION TO THE HIGH COURT: Any person desiring to question the validity of the Order or of any of its provisions on the grounds that it is not within the relevant powers of the Act, or that any of the relevant requirements of the Act or of any relevant instrument made thereunder has not been complied with in relation to the Order may, by Tuesday 1st September 2026 make application for the purpose to the High Court.
