Highways – Permanent Traffic Order Notices from Hampshire County Council in New Forest area
TRAFFIC ORDER PROPOSALS – NO WAITING AT ANY TIME ON VARIOUS ROADS IN NEW MILTON
NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that Hampshire County Council (“the Council”) proposes to make the above-mentioned Order, in exercise of its powers and duties under Sections 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 32, 35, 45, 46, 47, 49, 51, 53 and 122 of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 (“the Act”), Part IV of Schedule 9 to the Act, and of all other enabling powers, after consultation with the Chief Officer of Police in accordance with Part III of Schedule 9 to the Act and having discharged its duty under section 122 of the Act.
General nature and effects of the Order: Will be to revoke the limited waiting restrictions on Old Milton Road and to implement various waiting and loading restrictions across roads in New Milton as detailed below:
REVOCATIONS
No Waiting Monday to Saturday 9am – 6pm
Old Milton Road, North-West, Between a point 1 metre south-west of Crossmead Avenue and a point 12 metres south-west of that point.
IMPLEMENTATION
No Waiting at Any Time
Crossmead Avenue, North-east, Between a point 17 metres north-west of its northern junction with Wessex Avenue and a point 8 metres south-east of that junction.
Loading Only
Old Milton Road, North-west, Between a point 1 metre south-west of Crossmead Avenue and a point 12 metres south-west of that point
No Waiting 9am – 7pm, 1st Mar to 31st Oct
Pless Road (Central Island), South and East, Those lengths of road surrounding the central island at the junctions of Pless Road and Whitby Road junctions.
Whitby Road, North-east, Between the east junction and the west junction of Pless Road which forms the central island.

OBJECTIONS AND OTHER REPRESENTATIONS: All objections/other representations in respect of this proposal must be made in writing to The Castle, Winchester, SO23 8UD or email [email protected] quoting reference: A2155/MJB, by Friday 28th August 2026. All objections must state the grounds on which they are made. Under the requirements of current access to information legislation, any statement you make to the Council in response to this Notice may be made available to the press and to the public, who would be entitled to take copies of it if they so wished.
TITLE: The order, if made, will be known as “The Hampshire (New Forest) (Prohibition and Restriction of Waiting and Parking Places) (Consolidation) Order 2021 (Variation No. 6) (Totton, Hythe and New Milton) Order 2026.”
