Farnborough Symphony Orchestra's 2001/02 Concert Season will comprise two
thematic concerts and two symphonic classics. Performances will take place at the
Princes Hall, Aldershot on 17 November 2001, 2 February, 20 April and 15 June 2002.
The concerts cover a diverse range of music from Mozart to Dvorak to Strauss and
include a popular Family Concert with a narrator, a compere and a contribution from
a local youth percussion group.

The Folk Association of East Hants are applying for funding for the printing and
distribution of "Solent Waves", a monthly newsletter detailing folk activities in the
South Hants area. These include dance and song clubs, morris, clog and
international dance teams, dances and workshops. The newsletter is available to all
folk dance, song and music clubs in the district, with copies also sent to libraries,
information centres and individual members of the Folk Association of East Hants
and the English Song and Dance Society. The newsletter aims to broaden the
access of people within the District to folk activities by raising their awareness of
activities taking place in their area.

Purpose For Which Assistance Is Sought
'Making Your Mark!' is a series of cross-arts workshops for children which will
explore different methods of communication using theatre, printing and the written
word. Two Hampshire-based artists, designer Su Houser and director Catherine
Church will run eight workshops during November 2001 with children from Fair Oak
Infants and Tankerville Special School, Eastleigh culminating in a week long
exhibition at both The Point Dance and Arts Centre and Winchester Guildhall.
Platform 4 Theatre intend to ensure that the project is well documented and hope to
develop their work in this area to enable them to run a large scale residency
children's theatre project in 2002.

Image-On Films and Horndean Campus will combine to create a consortium for
training local young people aged 11 to 18 from South East Hampshire in film making.
Using the talents of multi-award winning Image-On Films the scheme will provide
local young people with the opportunity to make technically competent and
artistically expressive films. These will reflect and focus on the community in which
the young people live. The scheme will run over a year from October 2001 and will
take place at Horndean Campus. The scheme aims to provide young people with
hands on experience of all aspects of drama and documentary making, encouraging
the use of new technology and fostering an interest in film exhibition. The scheme
has received a grant from the Arts Council's Regional Arts Lottery Programme on
condition that they raise further funding for the scheme. The Arts Council grant will
be used to provide the equipment needed to run the scheme.

Purpose For Which Assistance Is Sought younger people.
The caravan gallery is a travelling visual arts project and specially adapted
exhibition space set up to document the diverse landscape and culture of 21st
century Britain as experienced by ordinary people. The caravan gallery visited the
Royal Victoria Country Park Show on 11 and 12 August 2001. The project aims to
be highly accessible and is about regional identity, linking in with existing
community events. The two artists involved interact with the public to discover
people's views on local, regional and national distinctiveness, and exhibit the
drawings, photographs and custom-made picture postcards that result from this
process in the caravan gallery space. Their findings will result in a large-scale
