1. Summary
1.1 This report covers budget monitoring for the first two months of the financial year which forecasts a small £332,000 underspend for the year, as well as giving an overview of the final accounts for 2007/08 which resulted in an underspend of £1.8m.
1.2. The following decision is sought:
· That the current budget position for 2008/09 be noted and the proposed spending from the £932,000 50% carry forward from 2007/08 of £500,000 on the innovations project be approved, and the proposed spending of £200,000 on safeguarding be approved.
· That the Executive Member note the final accounts for 2007/08.
