That approval be given for a grant of £5,281 for repairs to the fabric of the Church of St Faith, Havant.

2.1 To maintain the historic fabric of the Grade II* church, ensuring that the building remains structurally sound and that water cannot penetrate the building.

7. The Church of St Faiths is a Grade II* listed building dating from the twelfth century, with evidence of alterations in the thirteenth, fifteenth and nineteenth centuries. It is the most important historic building in Havant. The church is located in the heart of the town and makes an important contribution to the conservation area.

8. The Quinquennial Inspection (QI) of the church in 1998 recommended repointing and stonework repairs to the tower, where some of the quoin stones are deteriorating and lead work repairs to the tower roof, where the existing lead is in poor condition and risks allowing water ingress. The QI also recommended repointing and repairs to the fabric in several other parts of the church. The proposed works are all eligible within the criteria of the historic buildings budget for grant aid.
