Introduction

1.1

The day-crewing system at Andover and Havant Fire Stations results in 60 days per year when no junior officers are on duty. This means that Firefighters 'act up' to Leading Firefighter on these occasions. These stations should be brought into line with arrangements in place at other stations to ensure that properly trained staff are available to carry out the necessary risk assessments at operational incidents and to enable effective implementation of the Incident Command System that the Service has adopted. Therefore, two Firefighter posts have been regraded to leading Firefighter, one at each station.

Financial Implications

2.1

Total cost will be £1,000 per annum, which will be met within existing budgets.
